The 39-year-old, who starred as Roberta 'Summer' Quinn on the beach drama between 1992 and 1994, welcomed the arrival of her second child late last month, but only confirmed the news to the media this week.

"So much love in my life," she tweeted. "So blessed. This precious AND she lets me sleep?! Thank u for all the well wishes. We r so happy and so in...I've never seen such a new baby smile so much! (sic)"

Eggert already has a 12-year-old daughter named Dylan from a previous relationship.

Both children were the subject of a later message from Eggert, which read: "1 of my babies got her braces off today & is going to see a band play, the other had her 1st ride in a stroller."

Eggert has yet to confirm the identity of the new baby's father.
