Parents sue Urban Outfitters. Parents sue Urban Outfitters over 'sexually suggestive' pictures. The parents of a 16-year-old girl are suing high street fashion chain Urban Outfitters after 'sexually suggestive' images of their daughter were used on merchandise. The couple claim they didn’t give permission for the photographs, taken by photographer Jason Lee Parry when the girl was 15, to be used on T-shirts and other items sold in the popular store. The teenager’s parents are reportedly suing Parry for $28million over the use of the images and also allege the photographer made ‘her crotch area the focal point’ of one of the images.
The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan on Thursday, alleges: 'She is posed in a blatantly salacious manner with her legs spread, without a bra, revealing portions of her breasts.
'The image of Teen in a spread eagle position making her crotch area the focal point of the image may portray a child in a sexually suggestive manner and may be in violation of one or more federal and/or state laws.'
According to the New York Post, the suit also claims the teenager has been ‘the object of prurient interests and provides wallpaper for the likes of pedophiles’.
Urban Outfitters has yet to comment on the law suit, with the teenager’s parents requesting her name remain private.
