+preventing children's sports injuries

I would say the healthiest friends I have are people who’s parents encouraged sports and exercise in their life from a young age. It sets you up right and creates good habits for later life. They say it is hard to break the habit of a lifetume so why not make those habits good habits for your kids. Exercise and sports are of course excellent things to teach your kids but kids can get injured just like and sometimes more than
n sports and exercise can seriously enhance their childhood. So how do you go about this without causing sports injuries? Here are my opinions….

Stretching

Children tend to be very flexible anyway. You need to make sure they always warm up but also make sure they learn to be aware of when muscles feel like they are being warm. A kid may be able to do the splits from cold but they could still get a groin injury if not warmed up. Go through stretching as a game and make sure they learn to feel the stretches both kinetic and static.
Equipment

Kids grow fast so supplying the correct clothing and equipment can get very frustrating and expensive. I advise you get them fitted and then stick to whatever clothing and equipment you know works unless their body drastically changes shape. At least then if they move up a size you can buy lightly used equipment and save a little money knowing it will be right for them.
